As key part of our commitment to employee safety, our Life Science Optics Team in Rochester, NY recently conducted their training for MERT (medical emergency response team) on September 25th, 2023. Safety Engineer Mark Abraham helped coordinate the hands-on training which covered topics like CPR, correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device, and first aid techniques. Participants were highly engaged throughout the training led by ISafety—practicing techniques, asking questions, and improving their skills. Feedback from attendees was also overwhelmingly positive:

  • “Excellent essential life-saving skills. The cost to benefit ratio of 4 hours of training time versus saving a life is invaluable.”
  • “This was more engaging than previous classes with another provider. I feel much more confident to help now.”
  • “Simple, hands on. It was great! It was very engaging and made me feel confident.”
  • “Taught me that it’s not complicated to help someone. Stick to the training!”
  • “Probably one of the best training programs I have been to. It was engaging and fun, not a ‘snoozefest.’”

We’re so grateful to our team members who have accepted this important role in service of their colleagues here at Life Science Optics.
