Shubham Chandel, a Ph.D. candidate studying biomedical optics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata in West Bengal, India, has been named the recipient of this year’s Teddi C. Laurin Scholarship.
Chandel’s areas of study include light scattering and polarimetry in biophotonics research.
He plans to use funding from the scholarship to conduct research in biomedical optics at Laboratoire de Physique des Interfaces et des Couches Minces (LPICM) in France, in conjunction with researchers Tatiana Novikova and Razvigor Ossokoviskiat.
