IDEX Foundation donates $14.5K to Meals for Neighbors

Bristol, Connecticut, September 23, 2022 – IDEX Health & Science’s fluidics team in Bristol, CT recently made a $14,500 donation through the IDEX Foundation to the Meals for Neighbors program at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church in Bristol. The IDEX Foundation is a charitable organization made up of customers, employees, and shareholders consistently striving to create value and improve the communities where their teams live and operate.

The Meals for Neighbors initiative is a ministry and major outreach program at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church. The church oversees this free food operation, which operates four nights per week with help from volunteers. The program is a designated Food Share distribution site. The $14,500 donation will be used towards program costs including food and supplies.

“There are numerous philanthropic opportunities available to IDEX and we’re delighted they choose to support the neighborhoods of their local employees.  We’re grateful for their commitment to bettering the lives around us and look forward to continuing this essential partnership,” said Van Monak Chhun, Meals for Neighbors Director.

In August, a group of employees at the IDEX Health & Science Bristol facility sponsored and volunteered to cook a barbeque meal for Meals for Neighbors’ soup kitchen. IDEX employees bought the food, prepared the food, served the food, and cleaned the kitchen areas. Additionally, employees participated in a food drive June and collected 1,145 pounds of food and body care items for the program. Employees plan to sponsor more meals in 2023.

“Seeing the employees get excited to help someone else in need is one of the reasons why I love working here at IDEX Health & Science as the HR Lead and Site Coordinator for the IDEX Foundation. They actively want to help, and it means a lot to the community that we serve. We are thrilled that we are able to make a difference in our community with the help of the generous donations from the IDEX Foundation,” said Irene Childs, Senior Generalist, Human Resources in Bristol, CT.
