Relay for Life

On June 1-2, 2018, IDEX Health & Science in Oak Harbor WA, participated in the 2018 Relay for Life of Whidbey Island. This year the employees held in-house fundraising activities such as raffles, silent auctions, bake sales, pancakes breakfasts, soup lunches, BBQ’s, etc. and raised $11,132. The team donated $5k of that money in order to be a “Presenting” sponsor for the Relay. The sponsorship allowed the IDEX logo to be printed on all the advertising material such as flyers, posters, and on the back of the Relay T-Shirts. As a team, we also requested an additional $5k from the IDEX Foundation, bringing our 2018 grand total to $27,132.

The Relay for Life is the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. ACS is the 2nd largest contributor of cancer research in the US. Employees in the Oak Harbor facility have been touched by cancer in both their personal life and their work life. 10% of our employees have either fought back against cancer and won, currently in the fight, or have lost their battle with cancer. During the June 1st event, the IDEX team had 1 member on the track from 6:00pm on Friday through 12:00pm on Saturday. We walked for THEM.
