Oak Harbor, WA, September 14, 2012 — IDEX Health & Science introduces new PEEK-Lined Stainless Steel (PLS) Tubing. The metal-free, all- PEEK fluid path withstands pressures to 15,000 psi (1,035 bar), making it the ideal choice for biocompatible UHPLC applications. Coupling the chemical compatibility of PEEK with the strength of stainless steel, along with other innovative design features of PLS tubing also assures better overall dimensional tolerances (±5-15 μm, depending upon the inner diameter) over traditional PEEK tubing or stainless steel tubing.
The structural integrity of PLS tubing allows it to bend into system-specific shapes, including angles and sample loops, with no loss of performance. This allows PLS tubing to be used throughout the fluid pathway in any area where biocompatibility and high-pressure-holding ability is desired – e.g., from the pump to the injection valve, on the injection valve itself, connecting the valve to the column, etc. PLS tubing is available in a variety of pre-manufactured lengths and with inner diameters ranging from 25 μm to 250 μm (0.001 – 0.010”). Additionally, each piece of PEEK-Lined Stainless Steel Tubing ships complete with Upchurch Scientific VHP One-Piece Reusable UHPLC Fittings.
