$15K donation to Boys & Girls Club Metro South

Middleboro, Massachusetts, July 12, 2022 – IDEX Health & Science’s fluidics team in Middleboro, MA recently made a $15,000 donation through the IDEX Foundation to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro South in Taunton, Massachusetts. The IDEX Foundation is a charitable organization made up of customers, employees, and shareholders consistently striving to create value and improve the communities where their teams live and operate.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South was formed in 2019 through the merger of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton and the Boys & Girls Club of Taunton. Their mission is to nurture strong minds, healthy bodies, and community spirit through youth-driven, high-impact programs in safe and fun environments with after-school, weekend, and summer camp programs. They serve over 2,500 youth ages 5-18 in their clubhouses and camps each year.

In May, employees at the IDEX Health & Science Middleboro facility participated in a clean-up day at the Boys and Girls Club Metro South’s Camp Riverside where they helped prepare the camp for the summer season with various activities. Another clean-up is planned this fall.

“The giving spirit of the employees in Middleboro never ceases to amaze me. They are the most genuine and generous people I have ever worked with! Their dedication to helping the community and wanting to give back was evident through their hard work, and we are excited to continue this fantastic partnership,” said Bob Humphrey, Manager of Human Resources in Middleboro.

The $15,000 donation will be used in three key areas: $7,500 will help support teen staffing and training costs to run the facilities; $2,500 will be used on supplies and materials for Clubhouse STEM Labs, and $5,000 on equipment, maintenance and energy costs to support their freight farms—hydroponic container farms that support the Kids Café Healthy Meals Program.

“Our partnership with IDEX kicked off in a very tangible way with an extraordinary showing of support at a volunteer day of service in May. Nearly 30 IDEX employees came to Camp Riverside, our summer camp facility, and rolled up their sleeves to help prepare the property for the summer months. Thanks to their incredible support, we are able to serve more than 400 kids a day this summer. Since then, our new partnership has continued to flourish. Less than a month after their volunteer day, the IDEX Foundation awarded our Clubs an extremely generous $15,000 grant to support our programs in STEM education. The support of IDEX and the foundation has already had a transformational impact for our organization, and we are thrilled to be partnering with an incredible organization to help foster equity and opportunity for youth in need across our communities,” said Derek Heim, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro South.
