Description
The Controlled Delivery Module (CDM) is a miniature, low
power pumping system that provides precise flow control
through feedback from an integrated flow sensor. The
module also contains a flow control valve to automate filling,
rinsing, and dispensing functions within an instrument.
Each module is operated through a shared communication
bus protocol, enabling multiple modules to be operated
simultaneously from a single controller.
The CDM is positioned for the OEM market as a sub-assembly that is designed to be integrated into an equipment manufacturer’s instrument allowing shorter instrument development times and the ability to overcome capacity limitations. The CDM has already been applied to a number of critical applications including mass spectrometry calibration as well as in vitro diagnostics instrumentation and is just one example of how strategic development alliances between the diverse engineering specialists of IDEX Health and Science and equipment manufacturers can lead to the design of breakthrough products through the use of integrated, feedback controlled fluidic sub-assemblies. IDEX Health and Science is focused on OEM collaboration for product development enabling in-house custom product development and shorter development times that means quicker time to market.
